Kilmore Genealogy

Old map of Kilmore area

If your ancestors came from Kilmore, Co Wexford, you are indeed fortunate. You are not only fortunate because your ancestors came from such a picturesque part of Ireland, but also because they left so many traces of their lives, for you, the genealogist, to uncover.

Welcome to this free resource for genealogists.

All records on this site are from a manual transcription project I undertook, culminating in the go-live of Kilmore Genealogy on 19 July 2007. In 2012 I took the site down, due to lack of funding, but in February 2021 I am now happy to relaunch it.

You are very welcome to use any records and link to the site but please do not copy the data.

If you find the site useful then, please hit the 'donate button' and make a contribution. This site runs on contributions so your contribution will ensure I can continue to bring you this information for the longest time.

Wishing you every success on your genealogical journey.

And a woman who held a babe against her bosom said, Speak to us of Children. And he said:

Your children are not your children. Baiting lobster pots at Kilmore Harbour
They are the sons and daughters of Life's longing for itself.
They come through you but not from you,
And though they are with you yet they belong not to you.
You may give them your love but not your thoughts,
For they have their own thoughts.
You may house their bodies but not their souls,
For their souls dwell in the house of tomorrow,
which you cannot visit, not even in your dreams.
You may strive to be like them,
but seek not to make them like you.
For life goes not backward nor tarries with yesterday.
You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth.
The Archer sees the mark upon the path of the infinite, and He bends you with His might that His arrows may go swift and far.Gibran
Let your bending in the Archer's hand be for gladness;
For even as He loves the arrow that flies, so He loves also the bow that is stable.
