John Michael Salmon, 1877-1935John Michael Salmon was born in John Street, Wexford on 17 May 1877. His parents were Martin Salmon, Head Constable of the RIC, and Ellen Walsh. John attended the Christian Brothers’ School in Wexford town and succeeded at his intermediate certificate in 1889 when he was twelve years old. He later became a solicitor, working for over thirty years with Messrs Brown and McCann in Naas, Co Kildare. John married twice, Agnes Hayde in 1908 and Marie Moore in 1914 in Naas. He rose to the position of partner within the firm of Messrs Brown and McCann and enjoyed a distinguished law career, earning esteem for his extensive legal dealings within Kildare and its surrounding area.
