Francis Rossiter, despite age discrepancy, may be the one born in Libgate on 23 May 1814 to Thomas Rossiter & Mary Fortune. If so, then other children to Thomas & Mary were 23 Apr 1808, William, 12 Nov 1812, Patrick, 23 Mar 1818, John, 20 Mar 1819, Catherine, 12 Nov 1821, Margaret & 12 Mar 1827, unnamed child. Francis Rossiter died 1908 in Libgate. Their family home was the "old schoolhouse". Philip Rossiter, above, married Catherine Hayes (from Streamville, Co Wexford) and emigrated to Canada circa 1918. Anastatia, above, also emigrated to Canada and another sister, Anna, also emigrated and joined St John of God's, becoming Sister Annunciata. Philip Rossiter & Catherine Hayes' grandson is researching this family. |
